I am a mammal curator and Chair of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums European Carnivore Campaign. I have a special interest in red pandas: I established an international zoo studbook and compiled an IUCN Action plan for Procyonids and Ailurids. I have chaired the European zoos red panda breeding program and I am still actively involved with this species. I am the editor of Red Panda Biology (1989), and I am currently working on a second book.
