I have studied small carnivores in East Africa and the American marten in Ontario. In the late 1980s, I led two expeditions to Liberia in search of the Liberian mongoose and collected the first live animal. I have undertaken several review studies of viverrids and written several viverrid species accounts for the Mammals of Africa (2009). Since 1991, I have worked for several consulting companies.
